Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Data Science, the Junior Data Analyst is responsible for helping our customers make data-driven decisions and derive maximum value from Trulioo's service offering. This includes data analysis, visualisation, outcome-based recommendations as well as client-facing presentations and collaboration across Trulioo's business teams.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct data studies to evaluate customer performance and apply critical thinking to assess, determine options, and make outcome-based recommendations
  • Tell powerful stories from extracted and analysed data to our enterprise customers using a variety of visual aids, interactive dashboards, and/or written reports
  • Analyse data to identify trends, exceptions, and areas for further investigation
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders both orally and in writing, to translate complex information in a clear and concise manner
  • Own, improve and automate analytic processes to help the team scale efficiently

Key/Technical Skills:

  • Experience in gathering, cleaning, analysing, and reporting on data; including a demonstrated ability to identify appropriate statistical analysis for large datasets, visualisation of the data, and measurement objectives.
  • 1-2 years experience or equivalent working with relational databases in a SQL environment
  • Proficient in MS Excel; able to perform pivot tables, pivot charts, and advanced functions in MS Excel and other visualisation tools
  • 1-2 years experience or equivalent creating and presenting reports using a Business Intelligence tool, such as Tableau, Power BI, Domo, Looker, etc.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a customer-oriented, fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Bonus: experience working with a scripting language such as Python or R in a combination of professional and/or self-taught environment.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor degree in a quantitative area such as Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science or Engineering, or in Business with a quantitative specialisation.
